Welcome To Giant Dordoi Market, The Modern Silk Road

Just North of the city of Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan is the massive Dordoi market. Imagine one of those giant cargo container ships running aground in the middle of the 'stans, spilling all its shipping containers. And then a zillion people lined them up into avenues, stacked two high, popped the doors and started selling everything.

The modern silk road. The place sells retail, wholesale, basically any item that's made in nearby China and has the potential for mass consumption throughout Central Asia and beyond.

Busy.

The shipping container architecture, outside and in. It's actually well-organized with straight avenues that are covered.

Similar stores are grouped. In comparison, Target looks like a mini-mart.

Closing is simple, just leave your container shut. Taking a breather in a calm spot.

Efficient. Store on the bottom, storage up top.
